Trapped In A Rumor is an East Bay Improv Company that focuses on performing theatre games. If you've ever seen 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' then you know what we're about.  For those of you that are unfamiliar with that show, let us explain "short form improv" to you a little bit. The short form style typically is short, comprised of unrelated scenes or games, but is almost always fun. Games are played for a few minutes, then the characters, locations and objects finish with that game, and the performers move on to a new game, with new suggestions for the scene and characters. These suggestions come from you, our audience! Before a show, we will have out boxes asking for specific suggestions.  In addition to this, before we start a game or a scene, we might ask you for additional inspirations. They might be as simple as your favorite color, or as complex as what your best friend's sister's boyfriend's parents had for dinner last night.

Our current roster includes 5 men and 3 women that come from all walks of life. Through our shared experiences, we help each other to grow and continue to improve our performance.  The chemistry these 8 individuals have is almost unmatched.  When one person misses a rehearsal, they are always missed, and, always welcomed back the next week.  Best of all, after a person returns from an absence, it was like they were never gone.  The group clicks quickly and runs like a well tuned motor.

The performances of Trapped In A Rumor are generally PG-13, unless otherwise advertised. A smart and sassy audience makes for a great show, as we take our inspirations from you, so when you come to see us perform, be prepared to make suggestions, to laugh and to have the time of your life! We're counting on you guys!
